My home state. My birthplace. Love it or hate it, one must acknowledge the beauty and diversity of the wild spaces here. My goal with these photos is to show that Florida is more than just Disney World, orange trees, and retirement communities, but rather a state teeming with natural wonder.

Above: The animals who call Silver River State Park home: turtles and Rhesus macaque monkeys. The monkeys escaped a Tarzan-themed attraction back in the 1930's and have inhabited the trees on the river ever since. Don't get too close however, as many carry the deadly Herpes B virus.
